Hive: The new social media Twitter users are jumping to

It has become a trend in the last few hours

The acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk and the massive changes it brought to the platform, such as the reinstatement of Donald Trump’s account, has caused many to look for alternatives. Initially, several users of the social network indicated that they intended to make the transition to Mastodon , however its decentralized nature and servers made this venture somewhat complicated. So now a completely different app is trending.

We are talking about Hive Social , which originally made its appearance in 2019. It is a social media that focuses on simplicity and looks like a combination of Twitter and Instagram. The application has a feed with the posts of everyone you follow in chronological order, without any special algorithm sorting the posts, while it is pointed out that there are no shadow bans and higher priority accounts.

The medium supports text posts and polls, as well as images, videos and GIFs, with user profiles having both a feed reminiscent of Twitter and a dedicated gallery for media posts reminiscent of Instagram. Another feature of the profiles is the ability to add music and choose between 35 different colors. Finally, Hive also has a Discover tab where Trending content is gathered, as well as special suggestions for each user, depending on their tastes.

In the last few hours “migration” to Hive Social has trended on Twitter, with over 50 thousand related tweets. In this way, thousands of users update their followers about their new profiles by posting related photos. Of course, it remains to be seen in practice whether this new social media will manage to establish itself.
