CES 2023: Razer’s new soundbar tracks your head to improve sound

It takes 3D audio to another level thanks to a built-in camera!

Razer has announced a new sound bar – of course for gamers – that impresses with its technology since it can improve the sound , watching the user through a camera and with the help of AI (artificial intelligence).

The reason for the Razer Leviathan V2 Pro soundbar that was presented in the context of CES 2023 and drew attention to it, not without reason. Built in collaboration with THX and Audioscenic, Razer claims it can “dress up” the user’s environment with ” 3D sound ” by combining beamforming surround technology with head-tracking AI .

How does it achieve this? Thanks to a built-in infrared camera in the center of the Leviathan V2 Pro, which constantly records the user’s position and can thus optimize the sound according to his position, in real time !

There are actually two modes for Razer’s 3D audio technology, the THX Spatial Audio Virtual Headset that converts stereo content into surround like the company’s headsets, and the TX Spatial Audio Virtual Speakers for multi-channel sound that fills the room, giving a home cinema illusion.

The soundbar comes bundled with a subwoofer (it does not specify its power) which is connected to a classic audio jack port, along with a second 3.5mm to connect headphones and a USB-C port to connect to the PC. Bluetooth 5.0 is also supported for wireless connection with mobile devices.

The Leviathan V2 Pro soundbar will be available from February 2023 with a price of $399 .
