Guy Put USB-C in AirPods Pro – See How He Did It (VIDEO)
It took a 3D printer
For years, many users have been “begging” Apple to replace its old-now- Lightning port with USB-C , and although this change has been made on some iPads , iPhones and AirPods are waiting…still. Now, Ken Pilonel said to take it to another level and make the change himself.
More specifically, this engineer made a complicated “patent” and put in the AirPods Pro 1st generation a USB-C port that works normally. In fact, he uploaded the whole process on his YouTube channel which shows exactly all the steps he took.
It seems that it was quite a time-consuming process, as he had to print with a 3D printer a new board with the USB-C connector, as well as a new case for the AirPods Pro. As he mentions in the video, it took him several attempts to succeed.

Pilonel stated that he intends to sell the special PCB he made for the 1st generation AirPods Pro for $35, while if someone does not want to go through this process, they can buy the AirPods Pro ready “assembled” from his personal site for 300 dollars.
