Here comes the first Spider-Man series from Sony for its own universe
It will play through MGM+ and Prime Video
We’ve known for a while now that Silk’s Solo movie we heard about in 2018 wouldn’t be coming after all and a TV show was in the works instead. Now, some very interesting information about the Sony Pictures series has come to light .
As Screenrant reports , the series has been in the works for more than a year and is set to air on Amazon Prime Video . In fact, there are plans for an overall massive Spider-Man TV universe. This great deal was announced a few minutes ago.

The Wrap reports that the project is moving along smoothly and will be called Silk: Spider Society and will be the first show to set up the Spider-Man universe. Angela Kang , who has worked on AMC ‘s The Walking Dead, will serve as showrunner. The show will first air on MGM+ and then play on Prime Video as well.
Kang stated, among other things:
I am very excited to be joining the Amazon Studios family for the next chapter of my career. I look forward to working with this team. I’m excited to dive in with the first series, bringing Silk to life on screen!

Based on the Marvel characters created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, Silk: Spider Society will focus on Cindy Moon, a Korean-American woman bitten by a spider (the same one that bit Peter Parker), as she escapes from prison and searches for the her family.
Just to remind you that while Disney owns Marvel Studios after buying them for $4 billion in 2009, Sony still owns the rights to Spider-Man, as well as his…friends.
