Avatar 3: Sneak Peek at Pandora’s New Scenery – Fires, Deserts and Snows!

James Cameron had promised that we would see other areas of Pandora

James Cameron will keep his promise that we will see many new areas and environments of Pandora for the upcoming Avatar 3 and its sequels. Through the VOD release of Avatar: The Way of the Water we got a sneak peek with photos of the sets we will see in Avatar 3.

Specifically, these come from the bonus material of the VOD release of Avatar: The Way of Water where some concept art appeared depicting three different environments of Pandora.

The photos were first posted on Twitter by @DiscoveringPandora where the first shows the volcanic region of Pandora that will be the homeland of the “Ash People” of the Na’vi, who will also be the new “baddies” of Avatar 3. Another setting it’s about a desolate area on Pandora with huge rocks and floating mountains like the Halleylujah Mountains in the first Avatar movie.

A third environment however is the one that shows the polar side of Pandora and it is unknown if it will appear in Avatar 3 (or Avatar 3: The Seed Bearer as it will probably be called) or in Avatars 4 and 5 which are also in the works and it has been ensured that we will see them in theaters, due to the huge commercial success of Avatar: The Way of Water.

Avatar producer Jon Landau recently shed light on why they’ve already shot a significant portion of Avatar 4 . ” The first act has already been shot. Because to tell you the truth there is a time jump after the end of the first act of Avatar 4 and we had to gather all the children before they grow up any more and shoot all the scenes,” he said characteristically .

At this year’s Oscars Avatar: The Way of Water was nominated for  four awards  including best picture, best special effects, production design and sound, where it eventually won a gold statuette for its effects.
