Joker 2: Joaquin Phoenix had talked to the director about a sequel
Joker ‘s Todd Phillips , starring Joaquin Phoenix was a huge success worldwide since it exceeded the $ 800 million in a very short time. It seems that after this success we may again see Phoenix embody the charismatic Arthur.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times , Joaquin reveals whether we’ll see him again in this role, as well as the discussions he made during filming with Todd Phillips:
Long before the official premiere and before seeing this huge film success we talked about a possible sequel. In the second or third week of filming, I told Todd if he could start working on the sequel, because there are many more things to explore. I told him something funny and not so serious.
I basically told him: You could take this character and put it in any movie you want. Then, I did a shoot with the photographer on filming and we did 10 posters of classic films like Rosemary’s Baby, Forrest Gump and Raging Bull.

Following these statements, Joaquin went on to talk about a possible sequel:
We have only talked about whether we would do something, I am not saying that we are talking about it now, because we are not talking. Now, it couldn’t be just one movie with “The Prince of Crime”. We’re not interested in that. There should be a similar theme to the first film with a big hit.
Todd Phillips is not sure how he can recreate a film so unique in its entirety and become as successful as the Joker. But he has made some thoughts.
I think the Joker has been hearing so much in the last one and a half months about what’s happening “under the film.” So many movies are about spark, but the joker is about dust. If you can capture what I’m saying, it would be interesting.

For the story, Joker is now the most commercial R-Rated movie in history, surpassing Deadpool.
