“Loki” series producer hits out at Martin Scorsese for superhero movies.

Kevin Wright responded directly to Scorsese’s comment that they are a danger to our culture

Kevin Wright, producer of Disney+’s  ” Loki ” series , wanted to respond to Martin Scorsese’s recent statements that Marvel movies and superheroes in general are a “danger” to our culture .

In a recent interview with Geeks of Color, Wright addressed the issue directly and disagreed with the harsh words spoken by the legendary director of ‘ Wolf of Wall Street ‘, ‘Taxi Driver’ and most recently ‘Killers of the Flower Moon ‘ for the superhero genre.

In short, he argues that there is just as much artistic value and attention to a Marvel production as there is to what Scorsese considers a “folk” cinematic work. Wright specifically stated:

Loki is made with a lot of love and care and with a cinematic look in mind. Any of these series, any of these movies, anything in this world is about creating a character-centered story that the audience can relate to. I would challenge anyone watching to say that – Loki – is not cinematic and not made with the highest skill and care .

” The danger there is what it causes in our culture, because there will now be generations of viewers who think that movies are just that and nothing else .” Scorsese said in an interview before the release of his new film.

The Killers of the Flower Moon director has already addressed the scourge that goes into creating AI content, saying, ” But what I mean is that it’s industrialized content. It’s almost like AI is making a movie. And that doesn’t mean that you don’t have incredible directors and special effects people doing beautiful work. But what does that mean? What are these movies going to give you, I mean what are they going to give you? Other than kind of consuming something and then getting it out of your mind , from your whole body, do you understand? So what does it give you?”

Already the first three episodes of season 2 of Loki are available on Disney Plus, and every Friday a new one is released.
