Samsung will bring the 1.4nm chips within five years!

Lets go

Samsung wants to speed up chip development and has announced plans for 2nm chips in 2025 and 1.4nm chips in 2027. During this period, the tech giant will increase its production capacity by 50% and include more from mobile chips, chips for high-performance computing and chips for the automotive industry, effectively tripling the production of advanced chips.

Samsung will achieve this with a new strategy it calls “ Shell-First ”. This means that future expansions of Samsung’s production line will prioritize the construction of the “clean rooms” first, i.e. the building itself without the equipment needed to manufacture the chips. This move will allow Samsung to be more agile with future productions, as it will be able to change production lines more quickly and efficiently. The first facility to support the new standard is already under construction in Taylor, Texas and will cost $17 billion.
