YouTube: Brings a new feature to Twitch-like comments
Meet YouTube emotes
Google has started the availability of a new feature on YouTube that deals with comments and emotes like the ones we’ve seen for years on Twitch . In particular, the company is launching emotes that can be used both under videos and during livestreams.
YouTube Emotes are currently focused on gaming, but as Google conveys, there will be more in the future. The new emotes will now appear when you open the comments window and when you select the specific emoji box.
Just like on Twitch, emotes will have different names and you’ll be able to type their name to send them faster, for example typing “:cat-orange-whistling:” to bring up an orange cat whistling whistles
Google’s official statements:
We are starting with emotes created for Gaming, but we are working to bring even more themed emotes in the future. So, stay tuned!
