Meta Quest Pro: Facebook’s new VR headset costs as much as…three PlayStation 5s
Meta’s new proposal is coming soon
Meta has announced its new VR headset, which comes under the name Meta Quest Pro and costs about the same as three PlayStation 5s, i.e. $1,500 . As the company stated, it will start sending the product to its customers from October 25, while pre-orders have already opened.
The Quest Pro is mainly aimed at professionals in the “tech world”, since the Quest 2 is mainly focused on videogames.
Inside it has the brand new Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 1 and promises 50% higher performance than the Quest 2’s XR2, while combining 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It will also have new screens, two LCDs with quantum dot technology and local dimming and offer 37% more pixels per inch, 10% more pixels per degree and 30% wider color gamut.
For now, as Meta stated, this model is designed with “mixed reality” in mind and has 10 color cameras that have 4x more resolution than the Quest 2. This means it will have a more accurate scan of your environment, but and better tracking of your eyes and expressions.

With passthrough you’ll be able to put virtual screens all around you, while still having a clear view of your real keyboard and mouse when you’re working or doing other things. It will also allow you, if you are an architectural designer, to create 3D models and place them around your space.
Finally, the controllers, called Quest Touch Pro, will be able to connect normally with the Quest 2 and will also be sold separately at the price of $300, but we don’t know when they will start selling them.
Meta Quest Pro will be released on October 25th for $1500. Below you will be able to watch the related videos.
