Apple cancels plans to ramp up iPhone production
Miscalculation of demand
Apple had plans to ramp up production of the new iPhone 14 series as it anticipated an increase in demand for the phones. However, this did not happen according to Bloomberg , with the result that Apple abandoned these plans.
According to the report, Apple now plans to produce 90 million iPhone 14 series, almost the same number as last year. After all, it is also the number that the same company had predicted in the summer, before taking the decision to increase production by 30%.
Apple did not respond to reporters’ questions on the matter.
The demand for the Pro models of the new iPhones is greater than the regular iPhone 14 and this is reflected by the increase in production capacity of the Pros and the reduction of the regular ones, from at least one Apple supplier.
It should also be noted that from October, the production of iPhone 14 is transferred to India, as the technological giant tries to become independent from the production capabilities of China.
