UFO reports at the Pentagon have skyrocketed in the past two years
More than in the previous 17 years
A new report from the US Pentagon to the US Congress reveals that reports of UFOs – or UAPs as they are now called – have skyrocketed in the last two years, surpassing the number we had in the previous 17 years combined. The declassified report comes as a supplement to the Pentagon’s report to Congress that took place in 2021 .
Navy and Air Force pilots have reported 366 UAP sightings between March 2021 and August 2022. A Pentagon spokesman stressed that despite the increase in sightings, there has been no incident to date that threatens pilot safety.

Congress sees the increase in reporting as positive, as it indicates a reduction in stigma for pilots who dare to report such incidents and recognition of the threat that UAPs can pose.
Total reports of UAP sightings by members of the US military through August 30, 2022, now stand at 510.
Increased reporting gives us more opportunities to analyze and identify events. The security of our personnel, our bases, and the protection of American businesses on land, at sea, in the air, and in space is non-negotiable. – US intelligence official

The new report does not include details of the sightings, as they are offered only in classified reports delivered to Congress. However, there is a categorization of the 366 new views.
26 are believed to have come from drones or similar devices.
163 are believed to have come from balloons, hot air balloons or similar devices.
The 6 is attributed to birds, weather phenomena, plastic bags and other objects.
Thus, there are 171 reports that are categorized as “ unrecognizable ”. Some include “ unusual flight characteristics or performance capabilities and require further analysis ”. Nothing in the report mentions the possibility of aliens. It is worth noting that in last year’s report to Congress, Pentagon officials had stated that they had not seen anything that appeared to be ” non-terrestrial “.
Also note that NASA created its own UAP civilian sightings research team last year and will reveal its findings in mid-2023.
