In December 2021 and days before the finale of La Casa De Papel aired , Netflix announced the first spinoff series of the franchise, starring the audience favorite “Berlin”.

Now, it’s time to introduce ourselves to the cast of ” Berlin ” with Pedro Alonso of course returning to the title role, as we will see him leading a different gang, in the annals preparing his first big heist, already confirming that it is indeed prequel.

Berlin’s “new” (but old) gang consists of: Michelle Jenner ( Isabel ) as computer expert “Keila”, Tristán Ulloa ( Fariña ) as Berlin’s right-hand man and philanthropic professor “Damián” , Begoña Vargas ( Welcome to Eden ) as the volatile “Cameron”, Julio Peña Fernández ( Through My Window ) as the dedicated “Roi” and Joel Sánchez as “Bruce”, a man passionate about action.

La Casa De Papel creators Esther Martínez Lobato and Álex Pina explained their reasoning behind the spinoff series, as they wanted to take Money Heist’s most “sparkling personality” and place her in a different universe. “We liked the idea of introducing a new gang around Berlin in a completely different emotional state,” they said at a Netflix event in Madrid.

Lobato and Pina are signing the script for the 1st season of Berlin which will consist of 8 episodes. Filming will begin in Paris on October 3 and will also take place in Madrid for several weeks.
