The Day Before: Team hits back at those who call the game a ‘scam’

New emphatic statements

Despite the release of the 10-minute gameplay video a few days ago, the community continues to boo FNTASTIC , the development team behind The Day Before . In particular, after the sudden delay of the game, its temporary removal from Steam and the problems with the rights to the name, many began to accuse the studio that the whole project is a “fraud”.

The tension came to a head when the team admitted that the delay was ultimately pre-planned and had nothing to do with the copyright issue, while the gameplay did not calm spirits, with many expressing more disappointment.

Somehow, FNTASTIC decided to make statements again and addressing the doubters of the project, emphasized that “to destroy is easy and to create is difficult”. In more detail, through its official Twitter account, the studio stated:

We all live in an age of misinformation and lack of fact control. Anyone can say anything for publicity and everyone will believe him. Misinformation needs to be addressed as it can hurt not only us, but various other independent and small/medium sized studios as well. It also has a psychological impact on the members of these groups. So after the release of The Day Before, we will think about how to help novice developers deal with fakes and allocate resources for this.
Destroying is easy. Creating is hard.

In case you want a refresher, The Day Before is billed as an open world survival MMO game, set in a post-apocalyptic America filled with zombies and survivors killing each other for food, weapons and cars. The game seems to combine elements of other cult titles such as The Last of Us, DayZ and The Division, and had piqued the interest of the community since its very first trailer, which had gone viral.

The Day Before is expected to be released on November 10, 2023 exclusively for PC.
