Arm yourself with patience, the James Bond game from Hitman studio is taking quite a while
New information about IO Interactive’s plans
As we informed you in November 2020, the talented development team behind the Hitman titles, IO Interactive , announced that it is working on Project 007 , a brand new James Bond game.
In fact, a short teaser video was also in the spotlight, with the team pointing out that a brand new Bond story will be told, which will be a prequel to the well-known secret agent. And this is because players as James Bond will have to acquire the status of “00” which naturally allows them to kill.
In case you were looking forward to the game in question, it would be good to arm yourself with enough patience, since new information shows that its release is still several years away. In particular, the studio from Denmark revealed its financial results for the financial year that ended on March 31 and in this context warned investors that its income will decrease for the next two years due to the lack of new releases.
Practically, this means that IO Interactive does not plan to release any new game before March 31, 2025.
So the team’s James Bond title might arrive in the holiday season of 2025 or perhaps 2026 or later. Likewise, the rumored Project Dragon, a brand new IP that the studio is preparing in collaboration with Xbox, is also not expected to arrive before the aforementioned time frame. In fact, the project in question is rumored to be being developed by a new internal IO team in Spain, so maybe 2026 is not a realistic prediction either.
Of course, until then IO will continue to enrich HITMAN 3 with new content, so players can expect, among other things, the new Freelancer mode, which will add roguelike elements to the experience.
