Intel’s 13th generation CPUs can hit 6GHz according to a new leak!
New information about Raptor Lake
The leaks about the various next-gen products that PC hardware enthusiasts are waiting for in 2022 continue and so after the benchmarks for the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X and for the RTX 4000 graphics cards , now in the spotlight new information has come for the 1 3rd generation Intel processors .
Going into details, after the leaked synthetic benchmarks for the Core i7-13700K , now the leaker ExtremePlayer has also brought to the public the results from gaming tests , both for the upcoming flagship, but also for the Core i5-13600K.
The specs of Intel Core i7-13700K and Intel Core i5-13600K
Regarding the Core i7-13700K, let us remind you that we are dealing with the fastest i7 chip of the new Raptor Lake series, which will be equipped with 16 cores and 24 threads. This is achieved through an arrangement with 8 high-performance cores of the Raptor Cove architecture and 8 more energy-efficient cores of the Grace Mont architecture. The said processor will have 30 MB L3 cache memory and 24 MB L2 cache, with the base frequency reaching 3.4 GHz and the boost clock reaching 5.30 GHz.
On the other hand, the 13600K is a mid-range model, which comes with 14 cores in total. Of these, 6 are high-performance cores of the Raptor Cove architecture, with 8 more energy-efficient cores of the Grace Mont architecture. Compared to the previous generation 12600K, we have 40% more cores and 25% more threads. Regarding the memory, we have 24MB L3 cache and 20MB L2 cache, while the base frequency is 3.5 GHz and the boost clock reaches 5.10 GHz.
The leaked gaming benchmarks
Moving on to the benchmarks that came to light, the two processors were tested in the following ten games: CSGO, Final Fantasy XIV, PUBG, Naraka Bladepoint, Apex Legends, Forza Horizon 5, Monster Hunter Rise, Far Cry 6, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn. The results are as follows for the new flagship:
Intel Core i7-13700 K vs Core i7-12700 K at 1080p: 6.65% faster on average
Intel Core i7-13700 K vs Core i7-12700 K at 1440p: 5.30% faster on average
Intel Core i7-13700 K vs Core i7-12700 K at 2160p: 4.06% faster on average

On the other hand, the benchmarks for the i5 are configured as follows:
Intel Core i5-13600K vs Core i5-12600K at 1080p: 11.5% faster on average
Intel Core i5-13600K vs Core i5-12600K at 1440p: 4.64% faster on average
Intel Core i5-13600K vs Core i5-12600K at 2160p: 2.36% faster on average
Intel Core i5-13600 K vs Core i5-12600 K (average of all resolutions): 6.16% faster
The leaker revealed many more details, such as the minimum and maximum FPS of the games in question, which you can find in his related post below.
The overclocking capabilities
The icing on the cake for the leaks came from Twitter users @QXE87 and @esperonslaie , who also gave us a first look at the overclocking capabilities of Intel’s new generation, where significant progress appears to have been made.
In particular, in a video released to the public , the Core i7-13700K was seen reaching the big milestone of 6 GHz! The frequency was achieved with a voltage of 1,421V on an MSI MEG Z690I Unify motherboard, with only the 8 Raptor Cove cores enabled.
