Intel Core i9-13900K VS Ryzen 9 7950X – Who is the new performance king?

New official benchmarks

As part of the recent ‘Intel Innovation’ show, the brand new 13th generation Core processors were officially unveiled , which are expected to hit the market today, Thursday, October 20. Of course, Intel ‘s new models will come to stand next to AMD ‘s Ryzen 7000s , which were released a few weeks ago.

With new models from both companies arriving around the same time, the question for many PC gamers and hardware enthusiasts is ultimately which processor to choose . Intel comes to give its own answer to this, which in the context of a new special presentation gave official comparisons to the public.

Specifically, it put the Core i9-13900K , the flagship of the “Raptor Lake” architecture, and the Ryzen 9 7950X , the flagship of the “Zen 4” architecture, side by side. Overall the spotlight saw two different slides with comparisons. Starting with the first, we see what the gaming performance is in titles such as Armageddon, Total War: Warhammer 3, PUBG Battlegrounds, GRID Legends, Total War Saga: Troy, Far Cry 6, Hitman 3, Guardians of the Galaxy, League of Legends , Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Conquerer’s Blade and The Riftbreaker. According to Intel, the Core i9-13900K is the new king of gaming, outperforming from +6% to +22% in the aforementioned games. The Intel processor only lost in one game, Armageddon, and there by a narrow margin of 1%.

Moving on to the second slide, Intel compared the two flagships in various content creation software and synthetic benchmarks. So we see that the Core i9-13900K loses in PugetBench for Photoshop, but delivers comparable performance in Adobe’s Premiere and After Affects, while winning in Auto CAD and Auto desk.

Of course, since these are Intel slides it’s worth bearing in mind that the company may have only chosen the comparisons that make their products look better. Be that as it may, the Core i9-13900K seems to be a really powerful proposition. You can see the official comparisons below.
