Star Wars: When are the next movies announced? Now we have an idea

New report reveals information surrounding Lucasfilm’s plans

Finally thanks to new information released we have an idea of when the new Star Wars movies will be officially announced, which will continue the saga after the sequel trilogy.

We remind you that the Star Wars franchise is in a cinematic hibernation after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker , as a result of which its television turn makes a splash. However, it is unknown what happens to the Star Wars projects that have already been announced such as those of Taika Waititi , Kevin Feige , Damon Lindelof , Rian Johnson and Patty Jenkins.

A new report from The Hollywood Reporter sheds light on Disney’s change of heart and reengineering of Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm content.

Lucasfilm specifically says that it will reveal plans for its future films at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration event, which will be held next April.

After all, this is the big Star Wars event, from which last year in Anaheim the films were missing, as Lucasfilm focused on the Star Wars series, with presentations on Ahsoka, The Mandalorian and Skeleton Crew.

Among the big projects we’ll learn about is that of Damon Lindelof (HBO’s Watchmen creator) and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok director). What we’re definitely not going to see, according to reports, is the Patty Jenkins-helmed Rogue Squadron movie, which “never got remade” despite the Wonder Woman director’s claims to the contrary.

Star Wars Celebration 2023 will be held April 7-10 in London.
