Instagram “plays dirty” so you don’t upload to TikTok
New sneaky “trick” to prevent you

nstagram has noticed that many people create their videos using Reels, but then save the video and upload it to TikTok without uploading it to Instagram. So quietly, it decided to remove the sound from these videos when you download them to the device. Practically, you have to create AND upload your video to Instagram to allow the audio to be saved as well.
The above tactic has been happening since early August on iPhones but not on Android…yet. Instagram has not responded to iPhone users’ multiple inquiries about this development.

TikTok in video editing does not allow some filters for videos recorded outside the app, while it does not allow downloading videos that have not been edited and do not have the TikTok watermark. Thus, TikTok users turned to Instagram for video editing, but they continued to upload these videos to TikTok and not Instagram.
