New statements from the head of PlayStation Studios
Herman Hulst , head of PlayStation Studios , has given some new interviews to various press outlets worldwide, revealing various interesting information about PlayStation’s future plans.
Among other things, therefore, the high-ranking executive referred to the plans of the PlayStation on the PC , confirming the company’s intention to further strengthen its presentation on the platform. As reported by the French YouTuber, Julien Chieze, PlayStation will start bringing some of its games to PC from day one , specifically the titles-services it is preparing. As for the PlayStation single-player games , Hulst clarified that they will be coming to PC as soon as a year after their debut on PlayStation consoles.
I think in the future we’ll see at least a year between our releases on PlayStation and PC, possibly with the exception of live-service titles.
Live-service games are a bit different in nature because you need to have a strong community, a strong engagement, as soon as they go live. Therefore, in the case of our live-service offerings there may be simultaneous day one releases on PC and PlayStation consoles.
Meanwhile, speaking to Axios, Hulst pointed out that PlayStation’s single-player games remain the most profitable , but still, both Sony’s new teams and its older studios are preparing live-service experiences.
Finally, the high-ranking executive said that the PC releases help PlayStation to invest in even bigger projects , while he revealed that the company intends to improve its offers for mobile platforms as well.
