God of War: Ragnarok – We’ve officially learned how well it will run on PS4 and PS5

We are just a few days away from the release of the highly anticipated God of War: Ragnarok and so, Sony Santa Monica is now coming to reveal some of the latest details that gamers need to know. In particular, the studio shed more light on the technical side of the game, confirming how the game will run on the two consoles of the PlayStation ecosystem.

In more detail, we now know the final technical details for all the Graphics Modes of the title, i.e. at what resolution and at what framerate the graphics engine will run. There will be no options on the regular PS4 , with PS4 Pro owners able to choose between smoother motion or sharper visuals. On the other hand, PS5 owners will have a total of six options, depending on whether their TV supports High Frame Rate (HFR) and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).

Simple PS4:

Resolution: 1080p
Performance: Aim for 30 FPS

PS4 Pro – Favor Performance Mode:

Resolution: 1080p to 1656p (dynamic)
Performance: 30 FPS unlocked

PS4 Pro – Favor Quality Mode:

Resolution: 1440p to 1656p (dynamic)
Performance: Aim for 30 FPS

The resolution and framerate of God of War: Ragnarok on PS5:

Favor Quality Mode:

Resolution: 2160p (Native 4K)
Performance: Target 30 FPS

Favor Quality Mode with HFR:

Resolution: 1800p to 2160p (dynamic)
Performance: Aim for 40 FPS

Favor Quality Mode with HFR and VRR:

Resolution: 1800p to 2160p (dynamic)

Let us remind you that God of War: Ragnarok is expected to be released exclusively for  PS 4  and  PS 5  on  November 9, 2022 . The game will conclude the Norse saga of the story, with Kratos and Atreus facing many new dangers as Ragnarök approaches.
