One of the top rated games of 2022 is now free via Netflix

On iPhone and Android

Beyond its list of series and movies, Netflix is now coming to enrich the list of games it offers. Specifically, its subscribers can download Immortality to their iPhone or Android smartphone . This is the new adventure from Sam Barlow, creator of the award-winning Her Story and Telling Lies, which is among the highest rated games of 2022 with a score of 88 on OpenCritic.

In case you’re not familiar with the project, once again we’re dealing with an FMV game, which is described as an “investigative horror” influenced by cinema. The title tells the story of Marissa Marcel, an actress who made three films during her career – Ambrosio in 1968, Minsky in 1970 and Two of Everything in 1999 – none of which were ever released.

Now Marissa has disappeared and players will have to dig through the film archive and behind-the-scenes footage to piece together the plot and find out what happened to the girl. Obviously those familiar with Barlow’s previous work will feel instantly familiar, but Immortality enriches the experience by adding new ways to interact with the footage.

For the record, Immortality was released during the summer for both PC and Xbox Series X|S.
