Zazie Beetz Will Be In Joker: Folie à Deux, But How?

It’s been almost a week since it became official that Lady Gaga will be in Joker 2 or ” Joker: Folie à Deux “. And now, in the spotlight came another piece of news that once again concerns the cast of the film.

In particular, as reported by Variety , Zazie Beetz will unexpectedly return in the sequel, since we also saw her in 2019’s Joker as Sophie Dumond. How Beetz might reprise her role is an open question, Variety says:

The original film left Sophie’s fate up in the air, as Arthur left the house after realizing they weren’t in a real relationship. So, it is very possible that he will appear as a memory of him in the sequel and not as a “real character”. Unfortunately, nothing more has been revealed about it.

The sequel titled “Joker: Folie à Deux” (in free translation Joker: Madness for Two) will basically be a musical directed and written by Todd Phillips . The French Folie à Deux refers to a term describing said mental disorder affecting two or more people.

DC Films and Warner Bros. have agreed to pay in…gold for Joaquin Phoenix ‘s appearance in Joker 2, as the Oscar-winning actor will receive a $20 million fee.

The groundwork for Joker 2 has been in place since the first film swept the box office with over $1 billion in receipts, and Joaquin Phoenix has also been positive about returning as Arthur Fleck for a sequel, given that it was the film that won the coveted Oscar for Best Actor.

Now, Joker: Folie à Deux is slated to hit theaters on October 4, 2024.
