Huge problems with the launch of Overwatch 2 – Massive DDoS attack on the servers
Players waited hours to log in and finally saw only errors
Overwatch 2 was released last night as an early access format and it seems that its launch was not good at all, since in addition to many bugs, thousands of users could not play the game. And the reason was the huge queues, where the players waited for a long time, while at the same time Blizzard was faced with a DDoS attack.
Forums and social media were filled with complaints from fans, who reported getting stuck on the loading screen and seeing one error after another. In fact, there were cases where some people waited in line for thousands of players (in the queue) to be able to play.
Blizzard president Mike Ybarra initially tweeted that the game was experiencing server issues and that the company’s teams were working hard to fix them. However, he later admitted that the game was ” experiencing a massive DDoS attack ” on its servers, causing connection problems.
In addition to all of the above, Blizzard is working on fixing other launch bugs, such as the bug with the coins that some players don’t see on their profile, the black screen as soon as someone runs the game and many more.
Overwatch 2 normally supports cross-platform play, as well as cross-platform progression, which means that you will be able to play with your personal account, from any platform you wish.
Overwatch 2 is already out for PC and consoles as early access.
