Police arrest 38-year-old suspect – All the latest

There are developments in the case of the brutal murder of Cash App founder Bob Lee , who was found stabbed to death on the streets of San Francisco on April 4.

As local media reports, San Francisco police have arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of tycoon Bob Lee, who was stabbed to death in the city’s Rincon Hill neighborhood. The alleged attacker, identified by local media as Nima Momeni, is the founder of an IT company and is said to have known Lee personally. According to police sources, the two men argued in a vehicle before Momeni stabbed Lee and fled the scene.

A shocking security camera video – which for obvious reasons has not been released to the public – shows the dying businessman approaching a car with alarms flashing and him lifting his shirt to the driver to show he was seriously injured.

Lee, 43, was an executive at cryptocurrency firm MobileCoin and the creator of Cash App, a popular smartphone payment app that enables person-to-person money transfers – akin to PayPal and Revolut. According to Forbes, the app is worth up to $40 billion .

Lee was in San Francisco for a conference and had stayed to visit some friends before he died. He was found unconscious and stabbed near downtown San Francisco and later died in hospital from his injuries.

Many personalities of the technological world such as Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey paid tribute to his memory, who praised him as a brilliant, kind and innovative leader. At the same time, it sparked criticism of San Francisco authorities for dealing with the city’s high rate of violent crime.

Police have not yet released a motive for the killing or details about the suspect’s background or his relationship to “Crazy Bob,” as he was nicknamed, as the investigation continues.
