‘Lou’ is Netflix’s new ‘badass’ film starring Jurnee Smollett and Allison Janney (VIDEO)

Premiere at the end of September

Netflix has released the trailer for the upcoming movie Lou , starring Allison Janney (The Help, I, Tonya). The story of the film brings a bit of Liam Neeson’s Taken , as Janney is called upon to rescue her neighbor’s daughter, who was kidnapped on a rainy night.

Also starring alongside Janney are Jurnee Smollett, Logan Marshall-Green, Greyston Holt, Matt Craven, Toby Levins, Marci T. House, Jaycie Dotin, Roman Mitichyan, Ridley Asha Bateman and others. The director here is Anna Foerster who has a lot of experience in action, from the 2016 film Underworld: Blood Wars to episodes of Jessica Jones, Westworld and Outlander.

The synopsis according to Netflix:

A young girl is kidnapped. Her mother (Jurnee Smollett) teams up with the mysterious woman next door (Allison Janney) to hunt down the kidnapper – a journey that tests their limits and uncovers shocking secrets from their pasts.
