Apple is facing two new categories and this time because of AirTags . More specifically, two women are suing the company after claiming that these products are not safe at all. The report is carried by Bloomberg .

The 1st woman stated that her ex-partner placed an AirTag on the tire of her car, allowing him to find out where she had moved to after they broke up.

The second woman to file a lawsuit against the company says her husband placed an AirTag in her child’s backpack to track her. Both women are seeking an unspecified amount of damages and accuse Apple of releasing a product that is not at all safe.

The lawsuit was filed Monday and claims that the (privacy) safeguards in place, which include notifying iPhone users if they are found to be “followed” by an unknown AirTag, are inadequate and not working properly.

Apple’s AirTag was launched in April 2021 and had raised various concerns among many people. The company has many safeguards in place to protect against unwanted tracking, but according to the women above, they are “inadequate”.

Earlier, Apple stated the following:

“AirTag was designed to help people locate their personal belongings, not to track another person’s people or property, and we condemn in the strongest terms any malicious use of our products.”
