The new Silent Hill 2 mod eliminates a bug that has existed for 20 years on PC
Remember the bug that crashed the game on installation?
Silent Hill 2 modders have just released a new patch that addresses a bug that was affecting players trying to run the game on PC. This problem, which practically “crashed” the game during setup, had to do with multi-core processors and had been plaguing players for almost 20 years.
When the title was released in the early ’00s, many had problems with the setup, and even more so nowadays, when almost everyone has multi-core processors.
These modders are working on a long-term project they call Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition and it will improve the overall experience. In particular, they have brought widescreen support, upgraded graphics, better sound and have “disappeared” some bugs.
Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition brings widescreen camera, high definition resolutions, upgraded fonts and 2D images, better sound, fog and new shadows, better effects and much more.
So, for many the game was unplayable, with bugs and glitches and with this new version it seems that most of them have been improved.
