Bosch has released a new gadget that promises to remove all unpleasant odors from your clothes, even when you’re wearing them . It’s called FreshUp and it’s a portable device that even fits in your pocket. It is based on Bosch Plasma technology , which can refresh your clothes without the need for water or washing, and is completely safe without the use of chemicals or detergents. But how exactly does this technology work?
Plasma is the fourth state of matter. It exists in nature while it is manufactured artificially and is used in many products of our daily life. FreshUp therefore releases active plasma microparticles at high speed on the surface of fabrics and clothes, neutralizing odor molecules, as well as viruses and bacteria up to 99.9%* . It does not hide them, but removes them. Bosch Plasma technology is not a chemical process or reaction, so it is completely safe to use and apply, even if you are wearing the garment at the time. The device makes intelligent management by constantly measuring the resistance of the fabric and adjusting accordingly the amount of active plasma to dissolve the odor molecules from its fibers.
As for the device itself, it has an On/Off button to turn it on and off, a battery indicator that lasts up to 60 minutes of use (enough time to remove odors, viruses and bacteria from a week’s worth of laundry),
and it is fully charged within 3 to 4 hours. It also has an activation bar which, after being pressed against the fabric, the Bosch Plasma technology is activated on the area of the fabric you want to refresh . Each pass refreshes an area of 5 cm.
The good thing is that it doesn’t affect fabrics so you can use it even on your most delicate wool, silk and cashmere clothes, making it ideal for all dry fabrics. By refreshing your clothes with Bosch FreshUp, you can extend their life, since you will be able to wear them more times between washings or dry cleaning. But what odors does the device remove?
When sweat dries on clothes, it causes an unpleasant smell. This odor can be completely removed from the armpit area, for example, with a simple pass of Bosch FreshUp. Ideal for those who are away from home and cannot change. What’s more, instead of removing cigarette and smoke odors by washing an otherwise clean garment, you can simply use Bosch FreshUp. The same applies to food odors that enter your clothes, since you can freshen them after cooking or after visiting the tavern, easily and quickly.
Clothes are not the only field of application of Bosch FreshUp. The smell left by your pet on sofa fabrics for example can be easily removed, while you can use it to freshen any fabric in the house without having to wash it.
