The X-Files is probably coming back as a reboot from the director of Black Panther

Ryan Coogler is rumored to be taking over the new series

Yes, you read that right. The legendary TV series The X-Files will probably return to your screens again. However, it will not be a sequel, but a reboot that will be undertaken by Ryan Coogler , known director from Black Panther and Creed .

This news was brought to the public by Chris Carter  (original creator of the show), through an interview he gave to “On The Coast with Gloria Macarenko”, to celebrate the 30 years of the series. Among other things, he stated that Coogler will direct the reboot, with a different and at the same time brand new cast.

I just talked to a new guy, Ryan Coogler, who is going to bring back The X-Files with a different cast.

However, according to Variety , Coogler’s reps declined to comment, as 20th Television , the studio behind the original series, has not commented on the news either .

As Variety reports, this project is still at a very early stage and there is no other information, such as on which platform it will play. You’ll probably see it through Hulu-Disney+, since Disney bought 20th Century a long time ago.

The X-Files first ran on Fox from 1993 until 2001, although the US network renewed it for two more seasons that ran in 2016 and 2018.

Until something is officially announced, it’s best to take all of the above with a grain of salt. For anything new stay tuned to Techblinders.com.
