Scandal in FIFA 21 involves EA employees and thousands of euros
A large-scale gaming scandal has come to light and concerns the well-known series of EA football titles , FIFA . With the hashtag on social media #EAGate, the scandal most likely involves employees of the company who sold Ultimate Team cards directly to players for exorbitant sums.
In particular, according to the data gathered by Eurogamer from allegations on Twitter, personal conversations came to the surface – most likely – with employees of the company who demanded huge sums for cards. More specifically, in one case one sold three Prime Icon Moment and two Team of the Year cards for € 1,000. Another was selling five cards for the huge sum of € 1,700.
In all cases we are dealing with very rare cards that can not be bought by players, but normally can only be obtained through random loot boxes, if someone is lucky.
Card sellers claim to have a friend within EA who can deliver the cards and all they need is the buyer’s PSN ID to add them to the correct account. In fact, there is evidence in the publication of the medium that shows that such a transaction was successful.
The issue took on such dimensions that EA officially took a stand on the matter, announcing that it had launched a thorough investigation.
