OFFICIAL: Sony is raising the price of the PlayStation 5 in Europe

Sony , through the official PlayStation blog, has officially announced that it will raise the retail price for the PlayStation 5 , including in Europe, the United Kingdom, Japan, China, Australia, Mexico and Canada .

Specifically, in our parts, the PS5 with the Ultra HD Blu-ray disc will now cost €549.99 , while if you want to get the PS5 Digital Edition, then you will have to pay €449.99 .

Sony stated the following:

The global economic environment is a challenge that many of you around the world are no doubt facing. We are seeing high rates of global inflation, as well as adverse exchange rate trends, affecting consumers and putting pressure on many industries.

Based on these difficult economic conditions, SIE has made the difficult decision to increase the retail price of the PlayStation 5 in select markets across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific, Latin America, as well as Canada . There will be no price increase in the United States.

While this price increase is a necessity given the current global economic environment and its impact on SIE’s business, our top priority continues to be improving the PS5 supply situation so that more players can experience all that it has to offer the console, but also all that it will bring in the future.
