Star Wars: Natalie Portman is open to returning as Padme
See what statement in her new interview
Lately the Star Wars franchise especially in its Disney Plus TV segment has brought back many actors from its film past such as Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader for the Obi-Wan series Kenobi . In fact, another person from the prequels who returned as a cameo in the same series, was Liam Neeson playing Qui-Gon Jinn.
One person from the prequels is left out of this equation and it’s none other than Natalie Portman who played Padme Amidala in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. In a new interview with GQ’s Actually Me show, the 42-year-old star appeared open to a proposal to appear in a future Star Wars project.
” I don’t have any information about that. No one has asked me to come back, but I’m open to the possibility, ” said Portman, thus leaving open the door of her reappearance in the Star Wars universe. In the same interview, she even revealed what she took with her from the movie set, saying: “I took from the second movie (Attack of the Clones), one of Anakin’s little braids that was hanging. But then I lost it. “
However, if that’s going to happen, the story he’ll be involved in would have to take place before the events of Revenge of the Sith, as Luke and Leia’s mother dies in that movie.
Portman had made her impressive debut with “Leon: The Professional”, but became known to the general public through the three Star Wars prequel films ( The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith ).
