The new Sonic and the new Mario are probably coming out in the same week!

It looks like this year will revive a feud… from the old days , as brand new chapters of the historic Sonic and Mario franchises will be released in the same week, fighting for gamers’ attention and money.
Going into details, Super Mario Bros. Wonder , the first all-new 2D Mario in 11 years has been officially announced to be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on October 20, 2023 .
The new chapter will change the facts through Wonder Flowers. These new pick-ups will radically change every track in a variety of imaginative ways. For example, pipes can come to life, proper enemies can appear, character appearances can change, and overall gameplay can be transformed in unexpected ways. The game also introduces a new power-up for Mario: the elephant suit! This suit allows Mario to transform into an elephant and use it to interact with the levels in various ways.
On the other hand, Sonic Superstars seems to be released 3 days earlier, on October 17th , as leaked by listings in American stores GameStop and Target. If that’s true, the new Sonic will be coming the same week as the new Mario.
For the record, Sonic Superstars is a brand new 2.5D Sonic game that promises the retro feel of SEGA’s first legendary titles. It is worth noting that the title will be full price at $59.99.
It’s the first time in years that we’ve seen a side-scrolling Sonic game at this price point. The action of Sonic Superstars will transport players to the North Star Islands, which are home to unprecedented environments and levels. At the same time, the role of the Chaos Emeralds has changed so instead of collecting all seven to become Super Sonic, each individual Emerald will contain its own unique Emerald Power, such as creating clones of the character.
Sonic Superstars is expected for Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5, Switch, as well as for PC.
