Sony has registered the PS6, PS7, PS8, PS9 and PS10 in Japan

Discussions in the gaming circles may be swirling in recent months about the upcoming PlayStation 5 to be released in 2020, but Sony looks to be looking to the future. Specifically, wanting to make sure the PlayStation ecosystem is safe, Sony has registered trademarks in Japan for “ PS6 ,” PS7 , “ PS8 ,” “ PS9 ,” and “ PS10 ”

This is a practice Sony is accustomed to, registering its console names several years earlier. Following is the story of PS trademark in Japan.

• “PS” (registered in 2000, released in 1994)
• “PS2” (patented in 1999, released in 2000)
• “PS3” (registered in 2005, released in 2006)
• “PS4” (Registered in 2006, Released in 2013)
