Twitter has a hidden VIP list
That’s why you see some accounts more often than others
If you feel like you see some accounts in your Twitter feed more often than others, it’s not your imagination. As Platformer reveals , the company has a hidden VIP list which contains a few dozen accounts that are “pushed” by the algorithm.
Some of the accounts on this list are those of Elon Musk, Joe Biden, Mr. Beast, with most not even paying for a Twitter Blue subscription.

According to Platformer, the VIP list was originally created to monitor the interaction received by Twitter’s power users, as the company tried to disprove suspicions of shadowbans on certain users.
Musk himself stated two weeks ago that Twitter’s algorithm is complex and not fully understood, even by Twitter’s engineers.
Of course, Twitter did not respond to questions on the matter since it no longer has a communications team. But the revelation comes at a time when Musk has promised that only tweets from paid Blue subscribers will appear in the “For You” feed, with it being unclear whether users on the VIP list will be affected by the change.
