Xbox: Microsoft wants to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo consoles

The company is committed

Microsoft has officially stated that it is committed to bringing Call of Duty to Nintendo consoles for 10 years, following the acquisition of Activision Blizzard . More specifically, Xbox boss Phil Spencer made some very interesting announcements through his personal Twitter account.

Spencer stated, among other things, that the company wants to bring the popular franchise into the Nintendo ecosystem, while at the same time continuing to release Call of Duty on Steam as well . All this, after the closing of the acquisition.

In case you don’t know, the last time a main Call of Duty chapter was released on a Nintendo console was 2013’s “Ghosts,” which was made available on the WiiU. Since then, the company’s console owners have not seen a single game of the franchise again.

In fact, last October, Spencer stated that he would love to see Call of Duty on Switch, since Xbox’s intention is to “treat” the series like Minecraft.

Phil Spencer’s official statements:

For the record, the Activision Blizzard acquisition was announced in January 2022, but it still appears to have many significant hurdles in front of it. In addition to the FTC, the European Union and the CMA also appear to be against the deal, making life quite difficult for the tech giant. So far only Saudi Arabia, Brazil and Serbia have approved the takeover, with Microsoft now awaiting the ‘OK’ from 13 other governments.

A few days ago we informed you about the possibility of blocking the acquisition of Activision-Blizzard by Xbox.
