Samsung: Possible serious problem with the batteries of the phones was detected by YouTubers
The company is investigating
A recent video by tech YouTuber Mrwhosetheboss sounded the alarm at Samsung, after the world’s Arun Rupesh Maini found that many of the Samsung phones he had on the shelf had swollen batteries. Battery swelling is a clear indication of malfunction and can become dangerous as it runs the risk of exploding. Maini notes in the video that all his phones are in the same place, with the same conditions of temperature, humidity and placement, however only the Samsungs presented this problem, which indicates that something is going on with the company’s batteries. Note that the problem was observed in both old and new devices of the company.
Following a tweet from him, Samsung contacted him asking for the devices in question to research them in their labs, however it has been almost two months since he was last contacted and he has yet to hear back.
Maini also contacted other well-known YouTubers, including MKBHD, and they all confirmed the problem.
As you can see, with 300 million devices that Samsung sells annually, if the problem is widespread it is very serious. The issue is ongoing and we will update you on anything new. In any case, if you have a Samsung phone in a drawer, it would be a good idea to check if the battery has swelled.
