Instagram confirmed that it was a technical issue and apologized to users for the inconvenience. Specifically, through its official PR account on Twitter, the social media pointed out:
We know some of you are having trouble accessing your Instagram account. We are looking into it and apologize for the inconvenience.

If you’re having trouble with Instagram right now, you’re not alone. For a while now, it seems that there is some serious issue with the famous social media .
In particular, thousands of users cannot use the application , with the issue trending on Twitter, where those affected resorted to discuss it. Among other things, there are reasons for bans and accounts that have been disabled , without a specific reason. Users appear to simply receive a message that their account has been temporarily disabled, with 30 days to dispute the decision.
At the same time, many report losing followers en masse , by the hundreds or even by the thousands.
