Google Search: Changes are coming to search results with more video
The company’s plans for the mobile application were revealed
As part of its recent Search On presentation, Google announced some important changes for Google Search on mobile devices and specifically for the Google app on iOS and Android .
One of the new additions are shortcuts . So, under the search bar, users will soon be able to find recommended actions from Google, such as for example to identify a song playing in the background or to search visually with the camera. Overall, the company wants to make the experience faster , so that users can reach what they are looking for more immediately. With this in mind, beyond shortcuts, Google will start showing results and not just suggestions as soon as someone starts typing in search . So there will be no need to press the search button for results to appear.
Additionally, Google wants to help users find better results, so it will automatically make suggestions for more specific searches . For example, if someone searches for cities in Mexico, Google will ask them if they are interested in traveling, living there, or looking for family friendly places.
Another change that users can expect in the near future is Google Web Stories . The aim is to make the results more visual. Thus, Google will also add related material from content creators to searches , with the information appearing in the form of Widgets. Special emphasis will be placed on videos , since for example if someone searches for a city they will be able to immediately see short videos from other people who have already visited it.
Finally, Google intends to merge the results, showing a common feed of web pages, images and videos, all on the home page . In fact, as long as someone continues to scroll, when he reaches the end of the results, he will automatically start seeing results from other related searches.
