On Apple and with Rhea Seehorn as the protagonist, the new series of Vince Gilligan
The creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul has found a home for his new series
Vince Gilligan, creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, has found his next TV home for the new series he is preparing.
Having definitively closed the ‘Breaking Bad’ chapter some time ago with the shocking finale of Better Call Saul, Gilligan’s new series does not yet have an official title but we have learned that it is coming to Apple TV+ . In fact, Apple has already ordered two seasons of the new series Gilligan’s with each episode costing around $13 million which clearly makes it a blockbuster.
He also found the star of the series in the person of Emmy nominee Rhea Seehorn who played Kim Wexler on “Better Call Saul” for six seasons. Gilligan said of his choice: “After 15 years I said it’s time to take a break from writing anti-heroes and who’s more heroic than the amazing Rhea Seehorn? And she’s long overdue for her own series. and I’m lucky to be working with her.”
Vince Gilligan’s new series is produced by Sony Pictures TV, with which he has been working for many years, and is described as a mixed and down-to-earth drama series, which will have something of Twilight Zone but will not be sci-fi either.
Gilligan will of course be the writer, executive producer and showrunner of this series. Amazon and AMC are said to have battled over the series, but were reluctant to give the early OK for a season without a pilot and pay the hefty $13 million budget per episode.
