Hideo Kojima appeared at the Apple event being the surprise of WWDC 2023
The creator of Death Stranding will stand by Apple
The most surprising appearance of WWDC 2023 is that of Hideo Kojima, who appeared for the first time at an Apple event, carrying some small announcements.
The first thing we learned from Kojima-san was that the Death Stranding Director’s Cut will be released for Mac in 2023 , taking advantage of all the goodies of Apple Silicon and Apple’s M1/M2 chips, combined with the Metal 3 API . However, he did not give a more specific release date, other than that it will soon be available for pre-order on the App Store.
Kojima talked about a new era for gaming on Macs , thanks to the special “Game Mode” that the next macOS upgrade , ” Sonoma “, will incorporate. He also mentioned the future of his collaboration with Apple . At that point he announced that all future Kojima Productions titles would also be coming to the Mac .
But more generally, the appearance of such a legend of the gaming industry, not only signals that Apple wants to take gaming on Macs more seriously, but also to attract other developers, publishers and creators to support the macOS platform.
In the works, however, Kojima has the long-awaited Death Stranding 2 , an all-new cloud-based game for Xbox, and the official Death Stranding movie for Sony Pictures.
