Five Nights at Freddy’s: The first creepy trailer of the movie has arrived!

The famous horror videogame hits theaters in October

Blumhouse and Universal Pictures unveiled the film adaptation of the famous horror video game, Five Nights at Freddy’s with a first teaser trailer that brings out the style and horror of the games. The “FNAF” movie stars Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard (Scooby Doo) as William Afton (the villain) and Mike Schmidt (the pizzeria security guard) respectively.

It is worth mentioning that the animatronic creatures of “Five Nights at Freddys” and the special effects were undertaken by the Jim Henson Studio which specializes in this field. The film is directed by Emma Tammi, while the cast includes: Mary Stuart Masterson, Kat Conner Sterling, Piper Rubio, and Elizabeth Lail. Let’s not forget that the creator of the game and subsequent horror game franchise, Scott Cawthon, made the games himself with the sole purpose of bringing bread to his family. In fact, he wrote the film’s script and had the right to approve the final cut.

The film’s synopsis reads: ” The horror toy phenomenon becomes a chilling cinematic event as Blumhouse—producer of M3GAN, The Black Phone, and The Invisible Man—brings Five Nights at Freddy’s to the big screen. The film follows a troubled security as he starts working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes that the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy for him to pull off. “

The first game was released in 2014 and since then their popularity has gone beyond the narrow confines of indie games. As a security guard at Freddy’s haunted pizzeria, the player’s objective is to survive the night shift, using security cameras and other tools against the haunted animatronic animals.

The FNAF movie has been in the works since 2015 when Warner Bros had bought the rights, however some problems in the industry in general led Blumhouse to acquire it in January 2017, already having experience in the horror genre.

Five Nights at Freddy’s will be released simultaneously on the Peacock service (where supported) and in theaters on October 27, 2023.
