Avatar: The Last Airbender – Tons of new movies coming!
The first one will arrive in 2025
Paramount Pictures has officially announced that a brand new animated film for Avatar: The Last Airbender is in the works. In addition to this good news, the company also revealed the release date and as it seems, you should arm yourself with patience because it will be available on October 10, 2025 !
According to Variety , three new Avatar movies will be released that will be a collaboration between Paramount and Nickelodeon . As of now, nothing else has been revealed about the other two films. As for Avatar 2025, we still don’t know the title, since the production company is calling it the “untitled Aang Avatar film”, but Lauren Montgomery ( Wonder Woman, Green Lantern: First Flight ) has taken over the direction .
As the name of the project suggests, Avatar Studios’ first film will focus on the original hero of the series, Aang . Unfortunately, we don’t know much else about it, but there’s a small chance that other characters from the legendary show that grew up young and old will make an appearance.
Let us remind you somewhere here, that Netflix is also preparing the first live-action series of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Filming on the series began in November 2021 and so far we know that the actors involved are: Gordon Cormier as Avatar Aang, Kiawentiio Tarbell as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Dallas Liu as Zuko, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Iroh, Elizabeth Yu as Azula and Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai.
In fact, Albert Kim (Sleepy Hollow, Nikita) will act as showrunner, while Dan Lin (The Lego Movie, Aladdin) will write the screenplay directed by Roseanne Liang and Jabbar Raisani.
