Sylvester Stallone: The series “Tulsa King” surpassed House of the Dragon in TV ratings

The mafia series by Taylor Sheridan continues for a 2nd season with very strong numbers

When Sylvester Stallone signed on for his first TV series, he didn’t expect it to be such a big hit. And yet Tulsa King by Taylor Sheridan and showrunner Terrence Winter did such strong numbers that it ensured its continuation.

The Tulsa King has officially been picked up for a second season on Paramount Plus, so Stallone will remain on the TV landscape, despite complaining in a recent interview about how difficult it is to shoot a series as opposed to a movie.

In fact, the success of its premiere was so big for cable that Nielsen numbers revealed it surpassed HBO’s House of the Dragon as the most successful new series premiere of the year, with 3.7 million viewers.

It is, of course, worth mentioning that it was also helped tremendously by the passing of the established “Yellowstone” of the main series of the Sheridan-verse, which has entered the homes of American TV viewers and is sweeping.

After all, Stallone always wanted to play a gangster, as he previously told The Hollywood Reporter, as he ” wanted to play a unique gangster and not one who pretends to be a gangster – at least not when you meet him “.

The Tulsa King Summary:

TULSA KING follows New York City mob boss Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone), soon after he is released from prison after 25 years and exiled by his boss to settle in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Realizing that his mob family may not have his best interests at heart, Dwight slowly builds a “gang” of unusual characters to help him build a new criminal empire in a place that for him might as well be another planet. The series also stars Andrea Savage (“I’m Sorry”), Martin Starr (“Silicon Valley”), Max Casella (“The Tender Bar”), Domenick Lombardozzi (“The Irishman”), Vincent Piazza (“Boardwalk Empire “),

The Tulsa King airs on Paramount Plus. But we still don’t know when the 2nd season of Tulsa King will air, since its first season has not been completed yet.
