Comedian Thor is over? Chris Hemsworth reveals he doesn’t want ‘Love & Thunder’ anymore
The Marvel star is asking for drastic changes
Drastic changes are requested by Chris Hemsworth if he is to return as Thor again in the MCU . The 39-year-old Marvel star spoke quite frankly about the possibility of his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Having played so many different versions of the character, he admitted that Thor’s return – if and when it happens – will have to be radically different in style from what audiences have seen of late. In short, less “Love & Thunder” and in general he seems to mean that he wants to move away from Taika Waititi ‘s style .
Features what he said on the Happy San Confused podcast:
Look at Thor 1 and 2, they were pretty similar. Ragnarok and Love and Thunder are similar. I think it’s about redefining it. I had a unique opportunity with Infinity War and Endgame to make very drastic changes to the character. I like that, I like keeping people on their toes. It keeps me alert. It keeps me invested. I’ve said this before, but when it gets too familiar, I think I run the risk of getting lazy because I know what I’m doing. I don’t know if they’ll even call me back, but if they did, I think it would have to be a drastically different version in style, in everything, just for my own sanity… [laughs] Thor lost his mind of in the latter. He must understand now.
He said all this amid the revelation he made about his health, as he is dealing with a genetic predisposition to Alzheimer’s disease and will therefore be taking an extended break from his career.

In a previous interview he had mentioned the possibility of a Thor 5 . There he stated:
Yes definitely. I feel like we should probably close this chapter if I did it again, you know what I mean? I feel like it’s probably a guaranteed thing. I feel like it would probably be the finale, but that’s not based on anything I’ve been told or any kind of plans. You have the birth of a hero, the journey of a hero, after the death of a hero, and I don’t know – am I at that stage? Who knows;
When asked if fans will see more of Thor in the future, Hemsworth admitted that he doesn’t know, since he probably hasn’t signed anything with Marvel yet. After the credits of Thor: Love & Thunder, however, Marvel promised that “Thor will return ,” which came as a surprise to both Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi. Hemsworth had acknowledged that “Love & Thunder” might be the last time he would wield Mjolnir, as he stated in the on-set documentary Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of Thor: Love and Thunder.
The finale of the film, however, hinted that we will definitely see Thor again in new adventures and he will not be a monk.
Thor: Love and Thunder’s worldwide gross at the box office ended up just over $755 million .
