RTX 4050 & RTX 4060 Ti: We probably learned when Nvidia’s new budget cards will be released
The new models are just around the corner
As long as they’re thinking about building a new PC or upgrading their current system and waiting for some more affordable next-generation offerings from Nvidia , they won’t have to wait much longer. According to well-known Twitter hardware leaker MEGAsizeGPU, who has built a long track record of leaking authoritative information about Nvidia products, the company plans to release the brand new RTX 4050 and RTX 4060 Ti graphics cards in the coming months.
According to the leaker, the RTX 4060 Ti is currently scheduled to be released by the end of May , while the RTX 4050 will follow in June . However, the standard RTX 4060’s release date has yet to be decided.
Meanwhile, MEGAsizeGPU also shared an image that appears to show the box design template for the RTX 4060 Ti, which Nvidia provides to its partners to create their own custom versions of its graphics cards. The image doesn’t reveal much about the card’s specs, but it does show some of the software features and connectivity options.
According to previous rumors, the RTX 4060 Ti will be based on the AD106-350-A1 GPU, which has 4,352 CUDA cores, 8 GB of GDDR6 memory at 18 Gbps, and a nominal TGP of 160 W. The card will also have a 128-bit memory bus that translates at a bandwidth of 288 GB/s.
The RTX 4050, on the other hand, is rumored to have just 6GB of VRAM and a 96-bit interface. These are worse specs than the RTX 3050, which has 8GB of memory on a 128-bit interface. Obviously the size of the VRAM, if the leaker’s information is true, seems worrying, as many modern games require more memory to run properly.
At the moment there is no official confirmation from Nvidia regarding these release dates or specifications, so take all of the above with a grain of salt. The only thing that is certain is that where there is smoke, there is fire, so very soon we will probably see the more affordable options of the RTX 4000 series.
