Apple TV+: This also cancels a series with a well-known protagonist  

The new series with Charlie Hunnam of “Sons of Anarchy” lasted just one season

 And Apple appears to be moving at Netflix ‘s pace – with a barrage of canceled series – as it announced it has axed one of its newest series. 

The reason for Shantaram (Santaram), the new Apple TV+ series starring Charlie Hunnam, who you will know as Jax Teller from the series ” Sons of Anarchy” . Apple has announced that the series will not continue for a 2nd season, before the first season has even ended, as today, December 16, the last episode was released, which will also act as its definitive finale. 

The series is based on the book of the same name by Gregory David Roberts  and follows the journey of an ex-convict in trying to turn his life around. Steve Lightfoot of  “Hannibal,  ” ” The Punisher ” and  “Narcos” co-created, wrote and executive produced,   while Torchwood’s   Bharat  Nalluri directed . 

The official series synopsis: 

“Shantaram” follows a fugitive named Lin Ford (Hunnam) as he searches to get lost in the vibrant and chaotic Mumbai of the 1980s. Alone in an unfamiliar city, Lin struggles to avoid the problems he is running from in this new place. After falling in love with an enigmatic and intriguing woman named Carla, Lin must choose between freedom or love and the complications that come with it.
