Apple is delaying the release of iPadOS 16 and something is “to blame” for it
The new Stage Manager
At the beginning of the month we heard various rumors that Apple intends to delay the new iPadOS update for iPads this year and the company itself has just confirmed them. In particular, as it became known, the new upgrade is not going to come with iOS 16 of the iPhones , but instead it will come a little later.
In a statement provided to TechCrunch , the company said the following:
This is a particularly big year for iPadOS. As its own platform with features designed specifically for iPad, we have the flexibility to deliver iPadOS with its own schedule. This fall, iPadOS will be released after iOS, as version 16.1 as a free software update.
Since the beginning of August, there have been rumors that the new Stage Manager, which will be available on iPads with the M chip, is to blame for all of this. Apple doesn’t often separate its “OS” releases, but it’s doing so now that the recent beta version of the iPad has bugs and also has complaints about the addition of Stage Manager.
At the moment we don’t know exactly when iPadOS 16.1 will be available, but maybe it will be when iOS 16.1 is released.
