James Bond: The next film and the new “007” will be something completely different

The producers are talking about a “complete reinvention” of James Bond and the series

After their statements to Variety, the producers of the James Bond films proceeded with other equally interesting ones for the future of the franchise. The 26th Bond film will completely reinvent 007 and his character, Barbara Broccoli reports.

In the Deadline piece, Broccoli also says that there is still no mainstream new James Bond:

There is no one superior. We’re working on where we’re going with the character and discussing it at length. There is no script and we won’t find one until we decide how to approach the next film, because it really is going to be a reinvention of Bond.

We are reinventing who he is and that will take time. I would say that filming is at least two more years away.

In other recent statements from the Broccoli-Wilson duo, they said they want the next actor to take on the role of James Bond to last a decade:

The thing is, his selection is still about two years away. And when we cast the new Bond, it will be a commitment for the next 10-12 years. So he’ll be thinking “do I really want this?” Not everyone wants to do it. It was already hard enough to get Daniel Craig to do it. And he was around 30 at the time!

But who will be the next James Bond? This is a big question that we still have a long time to answer.

Daniel Craig’s tenure as 007 is historically the most successful – and for many the most iconic – since Sean Connery. It started with 2006’s “Casino Royale” , then 2008’s “Quantum of Solace “, 2012’s “Skyfall” , 2015’s “Spectre” and ended with 2021’s ” No Time To Die” , with his films to have grossed over $3.1 billion at the box office.
